What is GX (Green Transformation)?
In recent years, the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions has become an urgent issue in countries around the world as a countermeasure against climate change caused by global warming. In Japan, the government has declared that it aims to become "carbon neutral" by 2050, bringing overall greenhouse gas emissions to zero. Achieving carbon neutrality and a decarbonized society will require the cooperation of a large number of organizations. The Japanese government and industry see the move toward achieving carbon neutrality as an opportunity for economic growth and aim to both reduce greenhouse gas emissions and improve industrial competitiveness.
GX is an abbreviation for Green Transformation. This refers to efforts to transform the entire economic and social system by shifting from fossil fuels, which generate greenhouse gases, to clean energy such as solar and wind power.
