International Cargo-handling Seminar held by the Institute of Logistics Strategy(Part 2)
This article introduces a lecture given by Andrew Adam, former CEO of DP World Australia, in the International Cargo-handling Seminar held by the the Institute of Logistics Strategy on September 17.
He first lectured the Port Botany Landside Improvement Strategy (PBLIS) for Sydney Port, including its background and timelines, the Vehicle Booking System (VBS), penalties for both stevedores and road carriers in case services are not provided within a specified time, and the effectiveness of these measures.
Next, he lectured the background, effects, and risks of vertical integration among businesses involved in port logistics, such as marine transport, port cargo handling, land transport, and warehouse cargo handling, which is being led by shipping lines or terminal operators.
The Institute of Logistics Strategy will continue to share advanced initiatives in container logistics worldwide through the International Cargo-handling Seminar and other events.
